FAQs
1. How do I use an item in my work?
- The copyright information about each item is provided in its metadata. Please check it carefully and also read our Permissions and Privacy Policy for further information. If reuse of the work is permitted, ensure you cite it correctly. Along with this, copying the bibliographic citation is also provided in the metadata of each item and media. You can use it to cite the item (or media) in your work. If it is not available or unclear, then refer to the Permission and Privacy Policy for correct attribution.
2. Are there higher resolution versions of images? How to access them?
– If you wish to access higher resolution images of any architectural drawings (tiff format) from PAHA’s collection, then write to us on contact.paha@gmail.com with the details of the images you wish to access, your purpose and how you plan to use them.
3. Is it possible to access the original physical materials?
– PAHA is a post-custodial archive. This means it does not hold the original physical materials which remain in the custody of the original owners.
4. How do I report incorrect metadata?
-If you find any errors in the PAHA metadata, please write to us on contact.paha@gmail.com, with the link and details of the concerned metadata. We are always happy to discuss how to best describe and represent the items in our collection.
5. Is there more material that is not seen on the website, but is part of the archive?
- Yes, there are additional materials which are not featured on the website but are part of PAHA and available on request. You can write to us with your specific request.
6. How come some digital images are of lower quality than others?
- While most items are scanned at highest resolutions, others were no longer available at the time of professional digitisation. Lower resolution images made during the survey have been included.
